Description Teraflex Ecorun 101
The Teraflex Ecorun 101 summer tyre is designed for passenger cars and driving on asphalt roads. Its tread combines well-developed longitudinal grooves, a dense central section, and wide shoulder zones. This configuration helps combine straight-line stability with efficient water evacuation from the contact patch.
Longitudinal support in the central tread area
The central tread pattern consists of long ribs with angled sipes. Significant rubber sections are maintained between them, ensuring continuous contact during rolling. The dense arrangement of elements limits excessive movement under load and promotes more consistent force transmission to the road. This is beneficial during straight-line driving and minor steering corrections.
Combination of straight and curved grooves
Circumferential channels run around the entire tyre, collecting water from the contact zone. They are supplemented by curved transverse sipes that separate adjacent tread blocks. Grooves of different orientations form a branched drainage system: longitudinal grooves provide the main water evacuation paths, while transverse ones help gather water from the surface of the ribs. This helps maintain rubber contact with wet asphalt.
Wide shoulder zones
Large blocks with transverse sipes are positioned along the edges of the tread. Their wide bases provide support under lateral loads occurring during cornering and lane changes. The sipes add biting edges and channel water toward the edges of the tyre tread, while the shoulder areas maintain a dense arrangement. This combination helps preserve the contact patch shape during maneuvering.
