Sonar SX2

The Sonar SX2 summer tire is the first successful attempt by a Taiwanese tire manufacturer to create an asymmetric UHP tire. This tire is primarily designed for powerful sedans and coupes. The wide range of applications of this tire is indicated by the presence of several dozen sizes in which it is produced - from 195/55R16 to 235/30ZR20. Like any tire in the ultra-high-performance category, this product has high speed indices - H, V, W, and Y.

As mentioned earlier, the main distinguishing feature of this tire is the asymmetric design of the directed tread pattern. Due to this solution, the tire is as if it consists of two parts, the outer of which is responsible for straight-line movement, and the inner - for traction and coupling characteristics when cornering. In the center of the Sonar SX2 tread, there is a wide rib, which, unlike other tires from this manufacturer, is equipped with lamellas that are designed to increase the stiffness of this tread element. This has made it possible to provide excellent directional stability when driving at high speeds.

Another feature of this tire is the design of its drainage system, which consists of six longitudinal grooves, supplemented by numerous transverse channels, each of which is made in the form of a spiral. This shape helps to increase the speed of water circulation in the contact patch, which additionally increases the efficiency of the tire's drainage system.
