The Sonar SX1 summer tire can undoubtedly be considered a successful attempt by the Taiwanese tire manufacturer to create a UHP tire, i.e. a tire of ultra-high performance. At the same time, this tire has a very wide range of applications, thanks to the very large number of standard sizes in which it exists – from 175/65R13 to 215/35ZR18. Like any UHP tire, this car tire has high speed indices – H, V and W.

A distinctive feature of the symmetrical directional tread pattern of this tire is an aggressive V-shaped design. At the same time, the Taiwanese tire makers managed to keep the cost of the final product at a fairly democratic level. This was largely made possible by a balanced approach to creating this tire, which is distinguished by the presence of fairly simple but effective solutions. One of such solutions was the central longitudinal rib, the rigidity of which is ensured by a solid structure without breaks throughout the tread. Due to this, it was possible to achieve excellent directional stability, which is extremely important when driving at high speeds.

Another key feature of the Sonar SX1 tire is a highly efficient drainage system, consisting of two wide longitudinal grooves and numerous diagonal channels that form a V-shaped tread pattern with their location.

It is also impossible not to note the very wide shoulder areas of the tread, which occupy more than half of its entire area. Thanks to this solution, it was possible to provide a larger contact patch area, which significantly improved the tire's grip on dry and wet roads.
