Sonar S990

Released by the famous Taiwanese tire manufacturer, the summer passenger tire Sonar S990 is designed for a wide range of modern passenger vehicles in the SUV category, starting from crossovers and ending with powerful off-road vehicles. This is confirmed by the large number of sizes in which this tire is released – from 265/70R16 to 255/30R22. At the same time, all tires, except for 265/70R16, have high-speed indices V and H, which speaks of the safety and reliability of this tire when moving at high speed.

A distinctive feature of the symmetric non-directional tread pattern of the Sonar S990 tire is the original design with a multitude of spiral-shaped grooves. In the center of the tread, there is a wavy-shaped rib with a rigid and integral structure, without interruptions throughout the tread. Also, in the central part of the tread, there are many individual blocks of various shapes and sizes, the arrangement scheme of which provides a very large contact area and forms a highly efficient drainage system. All this, in combination with two longitudinal water-dispelling grooves, has allowed significantly increasing the tire's resistance to aquaplaning.

It is also impossible not to note the original design of the shoulder areas, the distinctive feature of which is their increased width and rounded profile, which, in combination with deep grooves, has further improved the resistance to aquaplaning. Additionally, the wide shoulder areas have increased the tire's resistance to lateral skidding, which has had a beneficial effect on reliability when passing turns.
