The main target audience for the Sentury LS288 summer tire is owners of compact class vehicles who, nevertheless, sometimes like to "speed up" on an empty road. The fact is that the size range of this model includes several dozen sizes for wheels from 13 to 16 inches. It has been assigned speed indices H, V, and W. This speaks to the remarkable capabilities of this tire, demonstrated by it at high speeds.

Four longitudinal drainage grooves

One of the strong points of this model is its high resistance to aquaplaning, demonstrated even at high speeds. This is mainly due to the four longitudinal grooves that run along the entire tread. Thanks to their large volume, they can accommodate a considerable amount of water, which is then discharged beyond the contact patch through numerous transverse grooves in the shoulder areas of the tread.

Low noise level

The Chinese tire manufacturers chose the S-shaped tread pattern not only for its excellent traction properties on various types of surfaces but also for its low level of resonant noise and vibrations. The fact is that this tread pattern is characterized by the arrangement of elements with different pitches relative to each other. In addition, special wavy notches were made on the two longitudinal ribs of the central part of the tread, which allowed the noise level to be further reduced.

Rectangular contact patch

Among other features of this model, it is impossible not to mention its predictable behavior and extremely clear reactions to steering wheel turns. Such capabilities appeared after the company's specialists tried to give the contact patch of the Sentury LS288 tire as rectangular a shape as possible. This was achieved by optimizing the design of the carcass and sidewalls, which were significantly strengthened, allowing for a virtually flat profile. Moreover, these technical solutions led to an improvement in the even distribution of the load across the contact patch, which had a positive effect on the tire's resistance to uneven wear.

Continuous central rib

One of the design features of this tire is the presence of a fairly narrow longitudinal rib in the center of the tread pattern. Due to the fact that it has no breaks throughout its length, its stiffness is at a very high level. The presence of such a deformation-resistant element in this part of the tread allows the tire to maintain excellent directional stability even at very high speeds.

Heat-dissipating shoulder area design

The shoulder areas of the tread contain numerous individual blocks of a trapezoidal shape. During movement, they form multiple edges of adhesion, which are most effective when braking. In other driving modes, in particular when cornering, the shoulder blocks due to their massive size provide a more stable position. Additionally, their trapezoidal shape contributes to more effective heat dissipation from the tread.
