Description Sailun Ice Blazer WST2
The Sailun Ice Blazer WST2 winter passenger tire is part of a new line of models from a well-known Chinese manufacturer. However, unlike most winter tires, this model has a slightly different specialization. It is designed for use on any axle of light trucks and minivans. At the same time, its tread has mounting points for spikes, which significantly expands its range of applications. As for the size range, in addition to traditional sizes for 16 and 17-inch wheels, it includes 20-inch sizes. Thanks to this, the Ice Blazer WST2 stands out for its excellent applicability.
Universal tread pattern
Unlike many other analogs, this model is favorably distinguished by its universal characteristics on various types of surfaces, including off-road terrain. The tire owes these capabilities primarily to its tread pattern, which has a block structure. Thanks to the multitude of individual blocks, its contact patch has a large number of grip edges at any given time. At the same time, the tread blocks of the Sailun Ice Blazer WST2 are spaced far enough apart to prevent the tread from clogging with dirt particles. This allows the tire to demonstrate confident behavior, both in deep snow and in mud.
Excellent directional stability
Despite the presence of numerous tread elements, the specialists of the Chinese company were able to provide the tire with excellent directional stability. This was achieved through the longitudinal arrangement of blocks, which form five longitudinal ribs. In addition to directional stability, this technical solution made it possible to significantly reduce rolling resistance and, along with it, fuel consumption, which is particularly important given the tire's purpose.
Excellent traction on ice
Even without spikes, this model performs well on icy surfaces. It owes this capability to the numerous zigzag-shaped lamellas applied to almost every tread element. When in contact with the road, each of them opens up, forming a sharp edge that grips even the micro-irregularities on the surface, providing additional traction. If we consider that there are thousands of such lamellas on the tread, the Chinese tire manufacturers were able to significantly improve the tire's traction properties, especially on ice, using this solution.
Silica-containing rubber compound
Like most other modern tires from more renowned brands, this model uses a rubber compound made from high-quality, cutting-edge components. Moreover, European specialists were involved in its development. One of the practical results of their work was the elasticity, which remains at an optimal level over a fairly wide temperature range. Additionally, the addition of silica to the rubber compound made it possible to significantly improve traction on wet roads while providing increased resistance to abrasive wear.
