Росава AS-701

The all-season passenger tire Rosava AS-701 is one of the novelties of the Ukrainian manufacturer. This model was specifically designed for compact crossovers and is produced in only one size, 285/70 R16. The key feature of this tire is its universality of application, i.e. it is equally well suited for both ordinary and dirt roads.

S-shaped tread design

For this tire, the Ukrainian manufacturer chose an S-shaped tread design, which has proven its effectiveness in many other models. However, during its development, the specific operating conditions on vehicles with increased cross-country ability were taken into account. That's why the tread pattern features a large number of massive blocks. These elements have a fairly complex configuration with long curved edges and numerous angles. At the same time, the blocks are arranged at a significant angle to the direction of movement, which ensures excellent directional stability, especially on slippery surfaces. Additionally, the combination of massive size and such arrangement made it possible to achieve low rolling resistance.

In the central part of the tread of the Rosava AS-701, there is a longitudinal rib that, unlike ordinary highway tires, is also divided into separate blocks. But at the same time, they are characterized by high stiffness, which allows the tire to demonstrate excellent handling for a universal model.

Another feature of the tread pattern of this tire is the structure of the shoulder areas. They are also divided into separate blocks by drainage channels. But, unlike the blocks in the central part of the tread, they are arranged almost at a right angle to the axis of rotation of the wheel. In combination with the large depth of the tread, this solution provides confident behavior when overcoming sections with unstable soils, and on ordinary roads - effective braking, especially on slippery surfaces.

It is also worth noting the design of the tire's sidewalls. When developing it, Ukrainian specialists undoubtedly assumed the possibility of operating the tire outside of roads with a solid surface. Therefore, they were made in the style of classic off-road tires. I.e., this part of the tread represents ordinary mud catchers, the sufficiently large height of which made it possible to ensure reliable protection against punctures and cuts.

Two-layer tread of the Ukrainian model

The two-layer tread is one of the distinctive features of this model. Unlike most passenger tires, the Rosava AS-701 has an outer layer made of a less elastic rubber compound than the inner one. This solution is due to the desire to provide the tire's tread with high resistance to all kinds of aggressive effects, especially when driving on rough terrain.

As for the inner layer, it, on the contrary, is made of a more elastic compound. It has a sufficient thickness to soften the impact of road irregularities, which makes the movement on this tire soft and comfortable. In addition, the inner layer, due to the more elastic rubber compound, contributes to more effective heat dissipation. Thanks to the reduction in heating, it was possible to significantly increase the tire's durability, which effortlessly withstands long trips at high speeds.
