The Ringtread brand belongs to the Italian company Marangoni, founded in 1945. Since its inception, the company has specialized in the restoration of automobile tires, currently being one of the world leaders in this direction. The technologies used by it allow for the reuse of around 80% of the components from the old tire, resulting in a 70% energy saving compared to the production of new tires.
Ringtread is not a brand name, but a technology, a system for restoring the tread of tires for trucks and buses. Structurally, it is a "ringed" tread strip with a multilayer structure, which, after being fixed on a worn-out tire, fully restores its original properties, often with an improvement in a number of operational qualities.
Another significant advantage of this technology is the substantial reduction in costs. Assembly time is reduced by three minutes, as the manufacturing process does not require measuring and cutting the tread. An additional two minutes of time savings is provided by eliminating the stages of loading and unloading the tread strip, other typical operations when restoring tires using traditional technologies.
Each tread "ring" is made separately using a radial press with subsequent vulcanization of the product in its final form. This eliminates the stresses in the tread structure that inevitably arise when using technologies that involve the application of classical multi-stage pressing. The absence of deforming effects provides the final product with much better wear resistance.
In addition, the radial presses used by Marangoni have a curved profile of the working surface. This provides better fixation of the tread ring on the tire, which as a result acquires excellent operational properties - stable traction at high speed, increased resistance to abrasive wear, reduced rolling resistance, and, of course, reliability. It is also worth noting the absence of seams. When using traditional tire restoration technology with cut tread strips on the tread, at least one seam inevitably forms. This inevitably leads to a disruption of balance and increases the likelihood of delamination of the installed tread strip.
