The tread pattern is formed by wide diagonal grooves that converge in the central part and open up towards the shoulder areas. The resulting V-shaped network leaves short paths for water and snow slush to be drained from the contact patch. The tread does not have a solid longitudinal rib: instead, rows of separate blocks are located in the centre, forming transverse edges across the entire width of the tread.
Each block is divided by several thin wavy lamellas. The dense lamellation increases the total length of the working edges involved in snow driving, and the differently directed arrangement of the slots allows them to work both during acceleration and braking, as well as during lateral loads.
