When we talk about the All Terrain category, it usually implies readiness for mud and rocks. However, the Predator New Mutant X-AT tyre is positioned as off-road, but its architecture and tread pattern topology are also "tuned" for dynamic asphalt highways. This is not a marketing mistake, but a deliberate engineering calculation. Here, the power structure of the carcass from heavy mud models has been transferred, but it has been equipped with a "city" tread pattern for maximum resource on hard surfaces.
Optimization of the contact zone
The main feature of the design is the high density of block arrangement. In combination with a modified curved profile of the tread, this provides a tremendous increase in the static and dynamic contact patch. For the driver, this translates into specific numbers: improved directional stability at speeds over 100 km/h and predictable reaction to steering wheel rotation. The stiffness of the blocks is selected to minimize deformation during maneuvers, which is critical for heavy pickups and off-road vehicles with a high center of gravity.
Grip on a wet highway
To compensate for the larger contact area (which theoretically increases the risk of aquaplaning), engineers have implemented a complex network of multidirectional drainage grooves. This system works like a pump - water is actively pumped out from under the wheel along multidirectional trajectories, maintaining a "dry" grip patch even in heavy rain.

Despite the "highway" bias, the model has left room for off-road capability. The shoulder blocks are spaced with an increased step compared to the central part. Their transverse edges are not straight, but stepped (zigzag-shaped), which creates a "tooth" effect when moving on loose snow or sand.
The sidewall has received additional off-road hooks. This is not just a design element, but a functional edge that works like an anchor.
