The winter tire Pirelli Scorpion Ice Zero 2, like its predecessor, is oriented towards car owners who value a combination of comfort and precision in handling. The tire is beneficially distinguished not only by this, but also by improved braking efficiency and traction properties on slippery winter roads.
One of the key innovations of this model is the modified stud design. Due to the use of new materials and the reduction of the metal element's size, its weight was reduced by 15%. The tungsten carbide insert, which contacts the road surface, is made with increased wear resistance. Around the studs, there is a special "recess" that crushes ice particles into smaller fractions. The rubber compound in the lower "base" layer has become more rigid, which increases the strength of the stud fixation in the tread. All these measures have improved traction properties on icy surfaces. The tread pattern has been changed. The V-shaped design with expanding grooves as it approaches the shoulder areas provides excellent stability on wet and slush-covered roads.
