Tread pattern design
Italian specialists, when creating this tire, preferred a tread with an S-shaped symmetrical non-directional pattern, which is distinguished by its original and stylish appearance. The tire tread is equipped with five longitudinal ribs. At the same time, the central rib is made double, the halves of which are separated by a very wide drainage groove. Both halves of the central rib have a solid structure without any breaks throughout the tread. This made it possible to give the central rib a wonderful rigidity. Due to this, the Pirelli 6000 tire demonstrates excellent directional stability throughout the speed range.
The other two longitudinal ribs, located nearby, represent separate rows of double blocks. Both halves of these tread blocks are made in the shape of a quadrangle and are distinguished by massive sizes. Due to this, it was possible to achieve excellent traction and coupling characteristics, especially on wet and slippery surfaces.
Another distinctive feature of the tread of this model is the very small radius of the profile of the shoulder zones, which made it possible to form a very extensive contact patch. Thanks to this design solution, excellent traction on dry roads is ensured. At the same time, the rectangular configuration of the contact patch made it possible to more evenly distribute the pressure over its entire area, which made it possible to minimize the likelihood of uneven tread wear, which, in turn, led to an increase in the service life.

One of the most characteristic features of this model is its phenomenal resistance to aquaplaning for tires in this category. Such high efficiency of the drainage system was achieved, largely due to the special structure of the transverse water drainage channels. Firstly, it is worth noting their sufficient number, which allows for the rapid removal of a large amount of water from the contact patch. Secondly, the configuration of the transverse channels, with an elliptical shape, significantly reduced the likelihood of any water swirls when removing it outward. This shape of the transverse drainage channels made it possible to significantly increase the speed of water circulation, which, in turn, led to an increase in the efficiency of the entire water drainage system.
Pirelli 6000 rubber compound
As you know, the tread rubber compound has a decisive influence on all the main operational characteristics of the tire. Undoubtedly, the Italian tire manufacturers, when developing the composition for the Pirelli P6000 tire rubber compound, approached this process with great responsibility.
The new rubber compound includes special polymers of the latest generation, as well as a silicon-containing component, silica. As a result, it was possible to obtain a rubber compound that gave the tread of this model excellent qualities. In particular, the tire is favorably distinguished from competitor models by its excellent elasticity, which remains at a stable level over a very wide temperature range. This allows the tread to more closely envelop all the irregularities of the road surface, regardless of the external environment, which provides the tire with excellent traction in any conditions. Another advantage of the new rubber compound is the reduced rolling resistance, which has a huge impact on fuel efficiency. In addition, the tread made from the new rubber compound has become more resistant to wear.
