Electric vehicles impose fundamentally different requirements on tyres than cars with internal combustion engines. The instantaneous peak torque, increased curb weight due to traction batteries, and strict requirements for range force a re-examination of classic approaches. The Pace Artoria EV model was created as a highly specialized product, where every design element works to reduce energy losses.
Architecture with functional zoning
The tread pattern features an asymmetrical distribution of elements within each rib. Here, the tread is deliberately divided into three functional zones, each of which solves its own problem:
- the central monolithic rib is a power stabilizer. Its solid structure minimizes tangential deformations when transmitting torque to the axle, which is critical for EVs with their "explosive" start. This rib is responsible for directional stability on straights and prevents "wandering".
- the shoulder area is a rigid outer shoulder, designed to work in turns. Its reinforced blocks counteract lateral drift, providing a predictable reaction to the steering wheel;
- the inner side features an increased number of drainage grooves and deep lamellas. It actively removes water from under the central part, radically reducing the risk of aquaplaning. And the lamellas create additional gripping edges.
Rubber compound for EV loads
The compound recipe has been modified taking into account two conflicting requirements: minimal internal friction and maximum wear resistance. This is achieved through:
- increased silica content, which forms micro-roughness at the molecular level, improving grip on wet surfaces even at residual tread depth;
- the introduction of natural rubber into the matrix, which increases elasticity and resistance to tears, critical when contacting sharp edges of potholes and curbs.
Silence as a characteristic
For electric cars, where engine noise is absent, road noise becomes the main irritant. The tyre features an optimized block arrangement step - the sizes of the blocks in adjacent tracks do not match, which disrupts resonant waves and reduces the noise spectrum to a level comparable to premium models.

- central monolithic ribs stabilize movement and torque transmission, a rigid outer shoulder area improves handling in turns;
- a compound with high silica content and natural rubber guarantees reliable grip, high resistance to abrasion and mechanical damage;
- the optimized design and recipe reduce hysteresis losses, which directly increases the electric vehicle's range on a single charge;
- the special block step and damping properties of the rubber reduce road noise, providing a comfortable silence in the cabin.
