All-season tire Nortec ET 500 is designed for SUVs, most of which are operated in heavy off-road conditions. The model is characterized by exceptional traction properties on any soil surfaces, especially with reduced bearing capacity.
Off-road design
A distinctive feature of the tire is that it was developed for operation primarily off-road. It is for this reason that the developers chose to divide the tread into two functional areas. The central part contains a solid longitudinal rib of small-sized blocks. They are arranged in pairs. Such features provide a reduction in rolling resistance and optimize the distribution of external pressure on the contact patch, making it as uniform as possible. At the same time, the use of blocks makes it possible to enhance these properties without compromising traction, since they form a large number of multidirectional edges.
The shoulder blocks form another functional area. In essence, these are mud catchers with high walls. Since they are spaced at a huge distance from each other, the "clogging" effect of the tread that occurs on soil surfaces with high moisture content is simply absent. At the same time, the curved shape of the side walls of the mud catchers additionally enhances longitudinal traction.
Special rubber compound
To a large extent, the reliability of the tire in extremely unfavorable conditions is ensured by the operational properties of the tread rubber compound. They were specially selected so that the strength of the tear and stretch were maximum. As a result, the tread is extremely resistant to punctures and cuts.
Main features:
- designed for SUVs;
- developed specifically for off-road use;
- paired blocks in the central part reduce rolling resistance, optimize the distribution of external load on the contact patch;
- mud catchers in the shoulder areas prevent "clogging" of the tread, provide excellent longitudinal traction properties;
- possibility of use at reduced internal pressure, for which additional blocks are provided on the sidewalls.
