Nokian WR C Van

The winter commercial tire Nokian WR C Van, like other models from the Finnish manufacturer with the WR abbreviation in the name, is designed for operation in regions where the climate is little different from European. Such a winter is characterized by temperatures just below 0 degrees Celsius, partial presence of snow cover, and a large amount of precipitation. It is for such conditions that this model is most suitable, demonstrating many of its strengths in them, first and foremost, the ability to maintain good handling regardless of the level of loading and road surface characteristics.

One of the features of this model is its ability to very evenly distribute the external load across the contact patch. It is this that largely allows it to demonstrate stable and reliable behavior in any conditions. This was achieved thanks to the rigid construction of the breaker, made from steel cord, as well as the small-radius profile of the tread. Under load, the tire is characterized by a square shape of the contact patch, which, like its size, remains unchanged, regardless of the level of impact of centrifugal acceleration forces on it.

Self-locking lamellas

In the absence of studs, this model is favorably distinguished by its decent grip on rolled snow and ice. This is ensured by several thousand lamellas cut into all tread blocks. When in contact with the road, they create countless gripping edges.
At the same time, the zigzag shape of the lamella walls limits the transverse mobility of the blocks. This to a large extent optimizes the distribution of load across the contact patch, and also has a positive effect on handling.
