The Nokian WR C Cargo commercial tire is a winter tire with a number of limitations. This is stated by the Finnish manufacturer itself, which says that this model was designed with the operation of commercial equipment in Central European countries in mind. We have similar climatic conditions only in the southern regions with their mild winters. Another confirmation of this is the name of this tire, where the word Hakkapellitta is missing, which is used by the Finnish company in all its truly winter models.
Reinforced carcass
When developing this model, a regular passenger car tire was taken as the basis. Nevertheless, the Finnish tire makers had to work hard to adapt it to the conditions of operation on commercial equipment. One of the innovations was a reinforced carcass, which has much greater carrying capacity and strength. It is distinguished by more durable sidewalls.
In addition, the construction of the breaker was changed, both layers of which are made of steel cord. Moreover, the reinforcement of this element made it possible to significantly optimize the distribution of external pressure over the contact patch, making it more even. As a result, the carrying capacity and resistance to uneven wear increased, handling and directional stability improved, and rolling resistance decreased.
Optimized rubber compound
The compound used in the production of the tread of this tire has also undergone a number of changes. The appearance in its composition of a number of new components made it possible to improve several important physico-chemical properties of the rubber compound, among which the increased tear strength should be especially noted, thanks to which the tire demonstrates excellent reliability when driving at high speeds and under heavy loads.
Main features of the Nokian WR C Cargo tire
- the tire was developed specifically for operation in the conditions of European "mild" winters;
- a reinforced carcass with a two-layer steel breaker gives the tire increased carrying capacity, prevents uneven wear, improves handling and fuel efficiency;
- an aggressive V-shaped tread pattern with a spearhead central rib and numerous lamellas provides excellent traction on any winter roads.
