The Nokian NRe tire is one of the most successful attempts by the Finnish manufacturer to compete with the leaders in the segment of so-called "energy-efficient" tires. This model is characterized by a very gentle attitude towards nature, in real operation, expressed in the form of, first and foremost, fuel economy and a long service life. At the same time, the Finnish tire makers have managed to give it excellent traction properties, both on dry and wet roads.
Increased service life
It is guaranteed by a number of solutions that have affected various elements of the tire's design. First of all, this is the design of the tread, which is distinctive because of this. One of its features is the presence of many cross-shaped lamellas. These tread elements, in addition to forming additional traction edges, optimize the distribution of external pressure on the contact patch, making it more even. This significantly reduces the likelihood of premature tread wear.
Another factor that determines the longer service life of the tire is the reinforced carcass design. It is characterized by the presence of a multi-layered breaker, entirely made of synthetic materials. On the one hand, this increases the stiffness of the carcass, which leads to an increase in the tire's service life, and on the other hand, it reduces fuel consumption.
Main features of the Nokian NRe tire
- a double longitudinal rib in the center increases stability at high speeds, facilitates handling during maneuvering, reduces fuel consumption;
- special cross-shaped lamellas prevent uneven wear, increase the size of the contact patch;
- wide and deep drainage grooves have a huge throughput, which minimizes the risk of aquaplaning even at high speeds;
- numerous lamellas form additional traction edges, which improves traction, especially on wet roads.
