It is distinguished by a high level of comfort in the most difficult road and weather conditions, providing safe driving in them.
Arctic Sense Grip
The Arctic Sense Grip concept was used in the creation of the tire. This is a set of technical solutions aimed at ensuring maximum grip on rolled snow and ice. One of them is the use of several types of lamellas. In the shoulder areas, there are self-locking slits. When in contact with the road, they open and form numerous edges, limiting the mobility of the block. As a result, not only are the grip properties improved, but their stability is also increased.
The central part contains pump lamellas. When in contact with a wet surface, they absorb moisture due to the presence of special cavities inside, thereby drying the contact patch.
The action of the lamellas is significantly enhanced by the compound. It is made double-layered. The outer side contains, in addition to silicon dioxide, Cryo Crystal 3 particles. They are characterized by high hardness and a crystalline shape. This component more than compensates for the lack of studs on the tread of this tire, providing effective grip on icy surfaces.
The lower base layer of the tread is highly rigid. Such a "substrate" gives the grip properties stability, improves directional stability at high speeds and when maneuvering, and reduces rolling resistance.
Snow Claws
Another innovation of this model is the numerous triangular-shaped grooves between the blocks with long curved zigzag edges. These elements enhance directional stability and grip during longitudinal accelerations on snowy surfaces. Some of them are located on the side surfaces of the shoulder blocks.
Brake Booster
The next interesting solution is the so-called "brake boosters". These are a group of elements in the shoulder areas that provide more efficient operation of the tread during deceleration on slippery surfaces. The transverse edges of the blocks have a zigzag shape, which increases their length.
