Across the Atlantic and in Western European countries, the Nitto NT421Q off-road tire is positioned by the manufacturer as a model suitable for operation throughout the year. This feature is ensured by the physico-chemical properties of the compound and the tread, which provide reliable traction on wet pavement and at sufficiently low, but still "positive" temperatures of the external environment. Another feature of the tire is its belonging to the High Terrain category, which implies its use mainly on asphalt pavement.
Lamellas
One of the key features of the tire tread is the presence of a large number of lamellas. It is literally dotted with them. During movement, they form more than one thousand sharp edges, providing the tire with high performance on wet pavement. And this did not lead to a deterioration in handling, since the side walls of the lamellas have protrusions that limit the mobility of the blocks in which they are cut.
Low risk of aquaplaning
The tread is equipped with a fairly developed drainage system. Its main components are longitudinal grooves. Their high throughput is ensured by both a significant volume and the ability to divert water from the contact patch through numerous transverse grooves. They are located at an angle and against the direction of movement, which further increases the intensity of this process.
