Unlike a significant part of its competitors, the South Korean company Nexen developed the commercial model CP321 from a "clean sheet", without using any passenger car tire as a basis. This allowed the company to avoid a mass of compromise solutions, ultimately creating an excellent tire product in terms of its technical characteristics, perfectly adapted for operation on small and medium-tonnage commercial vehicles.
Excellent handling in any conditions
A significant part of the numerous advantages of this model is ensured by the original design of the shoulder areas of its tread. They contain a multitude of blocks that, thanks to the minimal distance between them and the complex polygonal shape, when contacting the road, limit the longitudinal and transverse mobility of each other. This, in turn, leads to a significant improvement in several important operational properties. First of all, it is very clear feedback, which, combined with fast and precise reactions to the steering wheel, significantly simplifies the process of managing the vehicle. In addition, the numerous edges of the tread in this part of the tread on the one hand reduce the length of the braking distance, and on the other hand, allow the realization of the full power of the engine when accelerating.
Excellent high-speed stability
The massive dimensions and rigid construction are characteristic not only of the shoulder areas of the tread but also of its central part, which contains two wide longitudinal ribs. Each of them contains a multitude of trapezoidal blocks arranged at a significant angle to the direction of movement at a minimal distance from each other. Such a design, in addition to increasing the stability of the tire when moving at high speeds, significantly reduces rolling resistance, and thus fuel consumption.
Main features of the Nexen CP321 tire
- the tire was specifically designed for small-tonnage commercial vehicles, which allowed its design to be maximally adapted to the features of operation;
- wide shoulder areas with a multitude of interlocking blocks make the feedback transparent, improve the responsiveness of control, increase stability in turns and when braking;
- massive tread ribs in the central part of the tread increase the stability of the coupling properties when moving at high speeds, reduce fuel consumption.
