Description Москва М-263
The Moscow M-263 winter passenger tire, due to a number of features, has a fairly narrow range of applications. First of all, it is limited to a size range, represented by a single type of tire for wheels with a mounting diameter of 12 inches. As a result, the target audience for this model is car owners of very compact passenger cars of class A, which are very popular today. Another key feature of this tire is the possibility of operation exclusively in winter, which is quite rare among tires of this category.
Original V-shaped tread pattern
The Moscow M-263 was created in the "image and likeness" of winter tires from the most famous Scandinavian tire brands. Mostly, only they have such a design of a symmetrical directional tread pattern with a V-shaped arrangement of elements and an increased number of traction edges. But, unlike them, this model does not have pronounced longitudinal ribs. Instead, V-shaped transverse rows are used, consisting of four or five separate blocks that form very long transverse traction edges.
This design provides the tire with a number of high operational characteristics. First of all, these are very high traction properties in the longitudinal direction. It is thanks to them that the tire demonstrates the highest performance during acceleration and braking. In addition, it is impossible not to note the V-shaped form of these transverse ribs, which contributes to the improvement of directional stability on slippery roads, and also reduces rolling resistance.
Excellent traction on ice and snow
The absence of studs in this model is fully compensated by the increased number of traction edges. At the same time, most of them are formed not by individual blocks, but by numerous wavy lamellas cut into them throughout the depth of the tread. During movement, they open up, forming a multitude of traction edges. At the same time, the walls, due to the wavy shape, are tightly closed to each other, giving the tread block rigidity, which, in turn, improves handling.
Main features of the Moscow M-263 tire
- the original V-shaped tread pattern gives the tire excellent performance in winter conditions;
- excellent traction properties in the longitudinal direction due to the large number of transverse V-shaped ribs formed from several tread blocks;
- excellent traction on ice and snow is provided by numerous traction edges formed by blocks with wavy lamellas, as well as a significant distance between individual tread elements.
