The Minerva Frostrack HP winter tire is designed for passenger cars of various classes. It is adapted for use in conditions of so-called "European winters". It demonstrates maximum performance on wet and snowy roads at temperatures around 0 degrees Celsius.
The tread pattern features a high content of gripping edges. It contains a large number of narrow paired blocks. The arrangement of elements in a checkerboard pattern increases the contact patch and ensures even distribution of pressure on the road surface. As a result, the gripping properties on dry pavement become stronger and more stable. The inclination and curved shape of the blocks increases the length of the transverse edges formed by them, which on a low-friction coating increases the traction force and deceleration intensity. The tread features wavy lamellas. In the central part, they are inclined, which improves directional stability, and in the shoulder zones, they are arranged transversely, which enhances longitudinal grip on slippery pavement.
Key features:
- a tread pattern with numerous narrow inclined blocks provides high traction force and intense deceleration at low friction with the road surface;
- the V-shaped arrangement and variable width of the drainage grooves effectively prevent aquaplaning and slushplaning;
- inclined sinusoidal lamellas in the central part increase directional stability, and transverse cuts in the shoulder blocks - longitudinal grip on slippery pavement.
