Two rubber compounds

A significant part of the technical solutions used in this tire were "borrowed" from road-racing tires. One of them is the Bi-Compound technology, which involves the use of two different rubber compounds in the manufacture of the tread. They divide the tire into two parts - outer and inner. In the first case, a compound with a special elastomer is used, which enhances grip on dry pavement and at significant lateral accelerations. The inner part of the tread, occupying about a third of its area, due to increased flexibility, provides precision handling and grip properties on a colder wet surface. It is worth noting that both compounds begin to work with maximum efficiency when heated to certain temperatures. That is, their capabilities can only be fully realized on the track.
