The all-season tire for off-road vehicles and light trucks, Michelin Pilot LTX, belongs to the High Terrain category, being designed primarily for operation on paved roads. It differs from most other representatives in its increased efficiency when braking on wet surfaces, "light" handling, improved traction on snowy surfaces, and extended service life.

The tread pattern is characterized by the ratio of the area of elements to voids, characteristic of "highway" summer tires. This provides increased contact patch sizes, which has a positive effect on both traction and handling. It is worth noting the profile of the tread, "borrowed" from commercial tires for large-capacity trucks. It expands the contact patch, giving it a nearly rectangular shape, which further enhances these properties, adding increased resistance to uneven wear to them. The result is an increase in tire mileage. An important feature is the use of MaxTouch technology, part of which is an optimized carcass structure. It evenly distributes the pressure distribution on the road surface when the tire is subjected to multidirectional acceleration forces. This also increases the wear resistance of the tread, increasing mileage, and gives the handling a "passenger" character. Efficiency on slippery winter surfaces is provided by several solutions. First of all, it is an elastic rubber compound with an increased content of "silica" in the composition. The tread pattern contains hundreds of 3D lamellas, which allow the tire to easily grip even the most slippery surface.
