The Michelin Pilot Exalto PE2 summer tire was created based on serial tires and is intended for a wide range of sports cars. This is evidenced by the high speed indices from V to W assigned to this tire.
The asymmetric non-directional tread pattern of the tire is made in a very original design. The tire tread is made using VCP technology, which provides a change in the contact patch depending on the driving mode. At the same time, the load is distributed evenly over the entire contact area of the tire, which ensures the highest efficiency of the tire in any maneuvers.
Another feature is the use of innovative rubber compound ALM, which has excellent characteristics, thanks to which the Michelin Pilot Exalto PE2 tire has excellent wear resistance. In addition, all the main working characteristics of the tire remain at a stable high level throughout its entire service life, which is on average 20% longer than that of its main competitors.
It is also worth noting the high efficiency of the tire's drainage system, which made it possible to achieve exceptional resistance to aquaplaning. To a large extent, this ability is provided by the presence of three longitudinal grooves in the tread pattern, which have an impressive depth and width.
In order to ensure stability when cornering, the shoulder areas of the tread have a reinforced structure. In addition, thanks to the rounded profile, it was possible to get rid of deformations that occur at high lateral accelerations, which not only improved the grip when cornering, but also effectively prevents the appearance of uneven wear.
