The Michelin LTX A/T all-season tire is designed for use on SUVs, pickups, and light trucks. It is characterized by enhanced traction and grip on loose and unstable surfaces, durability and reliability in the most severe operating conditions, along with a smooth ride on uneven surfaces.
To a large extent, the versatility of this tire is due to the characteristics of the tread pattern used in it. It is a combination of separate blocks. In the central part, the elements, due to their shape and arrangement, overlap each other, forming a composite longitudinal rib. It improves the tire's performance on paved roads, providing more stable traction and handling accuracy at high speeds, while reducing rolling resistance. The blocks located on either side of the rib are spaced at a significant distance from each other. The voids between the elements are large enough for the tread to quickly remove stones and small soil particles that get stuck in it, while also providing stable traction and grip on most types of soil. It is worth noting the arrangement of the blocks in a "checkerboard" order, which reduces noise and vibrations, reduces rolling resistance, along with a significant improvement in handling during maneuvers. Another feature is the arrangement of a significant part of the shoulder blocks on the tire's sidewalls, where they form elongated edges. This significantly improves the tire's passability on off-road, especially on surfaces with reduced carrying capacity.
Key features of Michelin LTX A/T:
- universal tread pattern, effective when operating on any road surface, including dirt;
- optimized tread profile reduces wear, provides stable traction and comfortable handling at high speeds;
- reinforced sidewalls reduce the risk of loss of integrity when strongly impacted, prevent cuts and tears when operating off-road;
- special rubber compound with increased resistance to any mechanical damage and abrasive wear increases the tire's mileage when used in the most severe conditions
