DescriptionDescription Michelin Latitude Diamaris
The Michelin Latitude Diamaris summer tire is, in essence, a renamed 4x4 Diamaris tire, which, like its predecessor, is designed for powerful and fast crossovers and SUVs. However, as befits a solid manufacturer, Michelin has made a number of improvements to the design of this model over its long production run, significantly improving its basic operational characteristics.
The main distinguishing feature of this tire is its original asymmetric tread pattern. This decision was driven by the desire to provide excellent performance, primarily at high speeds. I.e., this model is designed exclusively for operation on paved roads with rare forays into light off-road terrain. That's why, when developing the tread pattern of the Michelin Latitude Diamaris, technical solutions typical of tires designed for ordinary passenger cars were used.
In the central part of the tread, French tire specialists placed a wide longitudinal rib, the rigid design of which made it possible to achieve exceptional directional stability for an off-road tire. This is especially evident when driving at high speeds.
The shoulder area of the tread, located on its inner side, is equipped with a developed system of drainage channels. Their design feature is a curved shape, which almost completely eliminates the possibility of vortices in the water flow leaving the contact patch. This made it possible to increase the water drainage speed, which increased the tire's resistance to aquaplaning. Additionally, the sharp edges formed by these channels improve traction on slippery surfaces.
Main features of the Michelin Latitude Diamaris tire
- A unique asymmetric tread pattern allows for safe movement even at very high speeds;
- A rigid central rib contributes to increased directional stability, clarity of response to steering wheel turns, and significantly reduces rolling resistance;
- Exceptional resistance to aquaplaning, thanks to a high-performance drainage channel system capable of draining a huge amount of water from the contact patch;
- Low noise level due to the different shape of the blocks and their arrangement with an uneven pitch.

French-made tyres reached the factory marks at 45,000 km, which is not bad.
Noise level is moderate. On smooth asphalt it's noisier than on rough.
Doesn't like camber, because the edges of the tread are more aggressive than the middle.
The centre of the tread wears out to zero while the sides still have a bit to go.
Dry-road grip is worse than the ContiSport Contact 5. However, they- Vehicle:

Originally, the car had Pirreli tires with a size of 285/40/20 at the back and 325/35/20 at the front, from the X5 M. This tire is complete crap. The car would throw you into the turn so hard that it would wrench the steering wheel out of your hands. My wife even refused to drive the car on the highway, because every drive became a test. At high speeds, the car was completely uncontrollable. So I decided
