Michelin Energy XH1

The Michelin Energy XH1 summer tire belongs to a line of so-called "energy-efficient" models that are suitable, among other things, for vehicles with hybrid and fully electric powertrains. This tire stands out for its improved grip and braking efficiency on wet surfaces, as well as its reduced rolling resistance and increased durability.

The tread pattern is notable for its asymmetric arrangement of elements and the use of a large number of individual blocks. Although they form numerous and multidirectional edges, a significant portion of them are arranged transversely, which provides increased traction and braking efficiency on wet surfaces. These properties are further enhanced by the presence of straight lamellas with sharpened edges, which also direct water to the nearby grooves. Another feature of the pattern is the presence of massive S-shaped blocks on the inside. These elements further increase the traction and braking properties on wet surfaces, providing more directional stability and making it easier to control the vehicle's trajectory during longitudinal accelerations. A significant part of the excellent fuel economy demonstrated by this model is ensured by the optimized structure of the carcass. Its basis is a single-layer cord made of durable polymer fibers. The central part of the tires of larger sizes is reinforced with additional layers. Directly under the tread of the tire is a 2-layer metal breaker, which increases directional stability at high speeds, reducing wear and rolling resistance. In the sidewalls, there are narrow reinforcing strips of cord, in the upper and lower parts, which prevent their excessive deformation, also increasing fuel efficiency.
