The Michelin Certis summer tire is designed for compact passenger cars. It is adapted for use in specific urban traffic conditions. It is characterized by high efficiency when braking on wet pavement, cross-country stability, fuel economy, and a quiet and smooth ride.
The tread pattern is made in a non-directional design, in which massive elements prevail. A large part of its area is allocated to the shoulder zones. In combination with their optimized profile, which increases the contact patch during lateral accelerations, this significantly increases stability and steering accuracy when maneuvering. In turn, the solid structure of the two longitudinal ribs in the central part increases directional stability on straight sections, reduces rolling resistance and wear.
Key features:
- enlarged shoulder zones improve steering accuracy and cross-country stability when maneuvering, prevent uneven wear;
- a pair of solid ribs in the middle improves directional stability and fuel efficiency;
- curved grooves in the shoulder zones reduce the risk of aquaplaning.
