The commercial winter tire Matador MPS-500 Sibir Ice Van is designed for light trucks and vans. A distinctive feature of this model is that it is much better suited for operation in Northern Europe and Russia than many of its analogs, demonstrating high load capacity and a long service life.
This tire features a non-directional symmetric tread pattern. Its characteristic feature is the massive size of the blocks. This significantly increases the contact patch and also provides a very even distribution of external load on it. As a result, the tire demonstrates not only good traction on asphalt, but also reliable and predictable behavior when maneuvering. Additionally, this design has a positive effect on resistance to uneven wear and load capacity.
This model is one of the few in its segment where the tread is equipped with studs. Most of them are located in the shoulder zones. This solution allowed improving traction when maneuvering and reducing the braking distance on ice.
Another important feature of this tire is the shoulder zones beveled at an acute angle. This made it possible to improve several operational properties at once. First of all, this is resistance to slashplanning and passability in deep snow.
