The commercial tire Matador Variant All Weather, like its predecessor, is designed for commercial vehicles with small load capacity and can be used throughout the year. But at the same time, this model differs favorably from it in most characteristics. They have been significantly improved thanks to the use of modern technologies and technical solutions. A large part of them fell on the tread pattern.

Drainage grooves with a saw-tooth shape

One of the features of the tire tread is the multifunctionality of the drainage system. In particular, the longitudinal grooves have a saw-tooth shape. It allows them not only to dry the contact patch, but also to form additional edges when in contact with the road surface. They improve handling on snow, and also increase directional stability, especially when driving on slippery surfaces.

In turn, the longitudinal grooves located between the blocks in the shoulder areas are also multifunctional. In addition to draining water from the contact patch, these tread elements make the distribution of external load more even. In addition to increasing resistance to uneven wear, such a design gives the tire additional stability during sharp maneuvers and cornering.

The transverse drainage grooves also have the same versatile functionality. Through them, water and snow masses are discharged beyond the tread. But at the same time, their location, shape and size are selected in such a way as to additionally reduce the noise level.

Progressive lamination system

For a tire designed for commercial transport, the density of the lamella arrangement is at a very high level. This was made possible by changing their design. It is three-dimensional, thanks to which the lamella walls contain many protrusions. Due to this, the lamellas, when in contact with the road surface, are fixed in the open position, and the blocks in which they are cut become very rigid, resistant to deformation. Ultimately, such features lead to a significant increase in coupling properties on slippery surfaces and handling on any type of coverage.

Rigid shoulder area design

To ensure a number of important operational properties for a commercial tire, significant changes were made to the design of the shoulder areas of the tread of this model. They are distinguished by significant sizes of the blocks located here. This made it possible to increase their rigidity, as well as increase the size of the contact patch. The final result of such a decision was an improvement in the indicators of carrying capacity, resistance to uneven wear, coupling properties during maneuvering and braking. In addition, handling has become more stable and predictable, which has significantly increased the level of riding comfort.
