Matador MP-85 Hectorra 4x4

All 27 sizes from the Matador MP-85 Hectorra 4x4 summer passenger tire range are designed for passenger cars with increased cross-country ability, crossovers, and SUVs. At the same time, it was specially designed for operation on asphalt roads. This is unequivocally hinted at by the high, even for conventional passenger tires, speed indices — W or Y, depending on the size.

Asymmetric tread pattern design

The tread of this tire consists of two structural parts. The outer side of the tire features a closed design and narrow transverse drainage grooves. This made it possible to significantly increase the size of the contact patch. As a result, the tire demonstrates excellent stability when cornering.

The inner part of the tread pattern has a large number of narrower blocks, forming numerous traction edges. In combination with the wide drainage grooves, this allows the tire to demonstrate excellent handling on wet pavement.

Multi-functional drainage system

Four wide longitudinal drainage grooves were enough to provide quick water removal from the contact patch. This made it possible to significantly reduce the likelihood of aquaplaning, due to which the Matador MP-85 Hectorra 4x4 tire is distinguished by excellent handling even in very unfavorable weather conditions. Additionally, the walls of the drainage grooves have different angles of inclination, which made it possible to increase the stiffness of the tread, and with it, the resistance to lateral skidding.

Shoulder area tread lamellas

In addition to the increased size, the shoulder areas of the tread are distinguished by the presence of numerous straight lamellas on the surface. These tread elements optimize the elasticity of the blocks, as a result of which the tire demonstrates a quiet and soft ride.
