The summer passenger tire Matador MP-81 Conquerra, although introduced back in 2008, still boasts remarkably relevant operational characteristics today. This was achieved not so much due to a successful design, but rather a series of changes made throughout the production of this model. It is still intended for the widest range of passenger cars with increased passability, crossovers, and SUVs. The size range includes 14 types with a landing diameter from 15 to 18 inches.
Universality of application
This model is distinguished by confident behavior both on asphalt roads and beyond. This became possible thanks to the use of an original 5-rib tread pattern with an S-shaped arrangement of elements. In the central part, there is a wide double longitudinal rib consisting of many quadrangular blocks. Their elongated shape along the direction of movement provided the tire with excellent directional stability with high traction-grip characteristics.
Two neighboring longitudinal ribs also represent separate rows of blocks of complex polygonal shape with long edges of grip. Due to this, the Slovak tire makers were able to provide the Matador MP-81 Conquerra tire with excellent handling on slippery surfaces. At the same time, the minimum distance between them and the massive sizes made it possible to significantly increase the contact patch area, which had a positive impact on the grip with a dry road.
Multifunctional construction of the shoulder areas
The tire is equally intended for operation on both ordinary roads and light off-road, differing in excellent characteristics on any surface. Such universality of application became possible thanks to the original structure of the shoulder areas of the tread. First of all, it is necessary to note their massive sizes, which made it possible to significantly increase the stiffness in this part of the tread. As a result, the tire demonstrates excellent stability and stable behavior when performing sharp maneuvers. In addition, this part of the tread is replete with many massive blocks, spaced at a significant distance from each other. This made it possible to significantly improve the passability on loose and unstable soils.
