The winter non-studded tire Matador MP-52 Nordica Basic M+S is by no means a newcomer to our market. However, its long existence has in no way affected the relevance of this model. Throughout the entire production time of this tire, it has been repeatedly modernized. Today, it is offered in 23 sizes for wheels with a mounting diameter of 13 to 15 inches.
Tread pattern "Extreme Snow Traction"
For this model, the Slovak tire makers preferred to use a classic V-shaped tread pattern, as it has a number of advantages on winter roads. It, like most modern winter tires, consists of five longitudinal ribs, the central one of which is made in the form of a solid element. This made it possible to give the tire excellent directional stability.
In addition, the tread pattern of the Matador MP-52 Nordica Basic M+S contains many individual blocks located at different angles to the direction of movement. The edges formed by them provide reliable traction on snowy roads.
It is also worth noting the wide drainage grooves located in the transverse direction. Their large volume, combined with the reverse direction, allows for quick cleaning of the contact patch not only from water but also from heavy masses of meltwater.
Self-locking System
This term hides a huge number of volumetric lamellas designed to improve traction and braking properties on slippery winter roads. These tread elements, when in contact with the road surface, form a multitude of additional traction edges. At the same time, their walls are tightly fixed to each other, thereby increasing the stiffness of the tread. As a result, stability and handling precision on dry and wet roads are improved.
