The Luao brand belongs to the Chinese company Linglong. The company was founded in 1975 and is currently one of the largest manufacturers of automobile and special tires in China. The company's products are sold in 173 countries around the world and are part of the supplier base for almost a hundred manufacturers of passenger and commercial vehicles, special equipment. In its activities, it declares the principle of 7+5. For seven enterprises located not only in China but also in Thailand and Serbia, there are five research centers, two of which are located in Germany and the USA. The Luao brand was established with the aim of promoting the sale of automobile tires with a low price but with extremely high performance and quality of manufacture.

In the segment of truck tires under this brand, several dozen models are offered, designed for both trucks and buses with a large capacity and special equipment. The manufacturer classifies them depending on the operating conditions:

- for highway transportation;
- for urban/regional transportation;
- for winter roads;
- for mixed conditions - asphalt/dirt.

In the segment of tires for highway transportation, both universal tires for all axles and specialized ones for a specific axle are offered. For all models, the use of tread patterns that provide maximum stability at high speed with reduced rolling resistance and wear is characteristic. In addition, they use carcasses with "super high strength", which provide the tires with excellent load-carrying capacity and reliability when operated on poor roads.

The segment of "regional" models is also composed of universal and specialized tires. The difference is the tread patterns with an increased number of gripping edges and the depth of the tread. These features increase their performance in bad weather conditions. In addition, the rubber compounds used are much more resistant to abrasive wear, punctures, and cuts.

The Luao winter truck tire line consists of three models - a universal one for all axles, for steering and driving. The key difference, again, is the design of the tread pattern. It prevails with numerous blocks and lamellas, thanks to which reliable traction on snow and ice is ensured. In addition, a special compound is used. It retains a significant part of its elasticity at extremely low temperatures, which, on the one hand, enhances traction, and on the other hand, increases reliability in the most unfavorable weather conditions.

In the segment of tires for mixed operating conditions, the brand is represented, perhaps, by the largest number of models. Conditionally, they can be divided into two categories. Some tires are oriented towards operation mainly on asphalt roads, on dirt roads their performance is slightly limited. Such models, like the KMD406, are intended for use primarily on dirt. Their "target audience" the manufacturer sees as dump trucks, concrete mixers, and other special equipment used on construction and production sites. The difference between them is the tread patterns, namely their useful area, the ratio of voids and blocks/ribs that make them up. In both cases, the most durable carcasses are used, which not only have an increased number of layers in the cord but also the cross-sectional area of the steel wires. Another feature is the use of special rubber compounds. Such compounds are very resistant to wear, punctures, and tears, the formation of small cracks due to prolonged heating.
