Its main features are, first of all, a unique tread pattern design, developed using a patented computer modeling method by the Korean manufacturer. The original tread pattern provides high-quality traction with the road surface in any conditions, as well as high vehicle handling, "shod" in these tires.
The tread pattern design is non-directional. Three central ribs, limited by four grooves, provide high directional stability when moving, and numerous cuts improve traction with the track. For better traction with the surface, specially designed carbon compounds were added to the tread composition. The new carbon component, which is part of the rubber mixture, in addition to improving the traction characteristics, contributes to the greater wear resistance of the tire and makes it tolerant to various mechanical damages.
In addition, when developing the tire, the optimizing contour technology ESCOT (Excellent & Smart Contour Optimization Theory) was used. This technology involves the use of a seamless tire construction. This made it possible to make its sidewall more rigid and eliminate vibration from contact with the road surface, which, in turn, significantly increased the vehicle's handling and improved its dynamics.
Also, the Kumho Solus KR21 tire is characterized by an increased contact patch with the road surface. This provides better vehicle handling and also increases the wear resistance of the tire due to the uniform distribution of pressure over the entire contact area with the track.
And, of course, one cannot fail to mention such a characteristic of this tire as the absence of aquaplaning on a wet track. It is achieved due to four longitudinal ring grooves, which effectively and quickly remove moisture from the contact patch with the road surface.
