Kenda KR19 Polar Trax

For the well-known Chinese manufacturer, the winter non-studded tire Kenda KR19 is one of the successful attempts to create a model for the harsh conditions of Northern European countries. Despite the low cost, Chinese tire engineers managed to achieve excellent characteristics, especially on snowy and icy winter roads. This model is released in a wide range, consisting of 24 most popular sizes from 13 to 16 inches. Depending on the size, the tire can have a speed index of T or H.

The external appearance of this tire is striking with an unusual for Chinese models aggressiveness. The company's specialists equipped their brainchild with a V-shaped directional symmetric tread pattern. A distinctive feature of the pattern is its central part, which is completely occupied by a very wide longitudinal rib, consisting of many massive blocks of arrow-shaped form. This design solution endowed the tire with a mass of advantages. First of all, due to the high rigidity of the blocks, the directional stability has improved significantly. Additionally, such a configuration of blocks has a multitude of sharp edges, which provides more reliable traction in all directions.

Also, in the central part of the tread, there are two longitudinal rows of separate blocks, made in the form of a quadrangle. Since the edges of these blocks are located at a sufficiently sharp angle relative to the direction of movement, this allowed to significantly improve the traction on snow.

Unlike the central part of the tread, the blocks of the Kenda KR19 Polar Trax located in its shoulder zones are arranged almost at a right angle. This allows to significantly increase the effectiveness of braking, especially on slippery roads.

The next characteristic feature of this tire, without a doubt, can be considered a multitude of zigzag-shaped lamellas. These tread elements, when in contact with the road surface, form additional edges of traction, able to effectively grip even bare ice.
