If you operate light commercial vehicles or small-tonnage trucks in dense urban and highway traffic, you are familiar with the problem of premature wear of the "shoulders" of the tire and loss of stability under load. Ikon Character Eco C2 is designed as a direct solution. This model combines a reinforced frame optimized for high weight loads and a thoughtful tread pattern for asphalt surfaces of any quality.
Closed Tread Architecture
The basis of the design is a semi-closed design with four longitudinal ribs that divide the contact patch into stable functional zones. This is not just a design - the structure significantly increases the stiffness of the tread, which is critical when the axle load is over 1.5 tons.
Pay attention to the peripheral ribs: their massiveness has been increased by 20% relative to the central ones. This solution solves the main problem of commercial tires - rapid wear of the edges due to constant deformation in turns and during unloading. As a result, the contact patch retains its rectangular shape throughout its life.
Compromise-Free Traction
Here, the geometry of four longitudinal grooves is implemented, where each edge acts as a directional traction edge. When braking on wet asphalt, they "bite" into the water film with a variable force vector - the effect of lamination without weakening the blocks.
Energy Efficiency and Ride
Fuel efficiency is achieved not only by low rolling resistance but also by the stability of the rubber compound. The model uses a compound with optimized content of special components. It provides resistance to wear and cuts.
The frame is made of two-layer cord with increased thread density. This provides a margin of safety in case of running over sharp curbs or road irregularities with a full load.
Main Features of Ikon Character Eco C2:
- wide range of applications for light commercial vehicles;
- large longitudinal ribs with increased width of the edge zones eliminate stepwise wear, stabilize the course at speeds;
- numerous elements in each structure create additional edges for reducing the braking distance on a wet road without losing stiffness;
- reinforced frame and heat-resistant rubber compound resist cracks, punctures, and wear in harsh conditions.
