The Hilo brand is owned by the Chinese holding company Xingyuan, founded in 1994 as a result of the merger of four companies, which allowed the creation of a continuous production chain, where the manufacture of automotive tires was one of the last links. Currently, the company produces around 5.6 million units of various tire products per year, developing them independently. A significant part of these products is exported to more than 100 countries worldwide.

Hilo Truck Tires

In the commercial tire segment, the brand offers over 40 models, providing solutions for almost any scenario of using trucks and large buses. The manufacturer classifies these tires based on operating conditions, distributing them into the following categories:

- for long-distance transportation;
- for short and medium-distance transportation;
- for mixed operating conditions — asphalt/dirt.

Hilo's Long Haul category tires can be both universal and designed for installation on a specific axle. This approach, on the one hand, allows reducing operating expenses and simplifying the process of using tires, and on the other hand, gives them maximum efficiency in specific conditions, for example, when it is necessary to provide maximum traction on slippery winter roads. Regardless of these features, the brand's "highway" tires have several distinctive characteristics. First and foremost, it is the widespread use of all-steel carcasses, which increase the load capacity, reduce rolling resistance, and wear. Another feature is the increased depth of the tread pattern. Even for steering and trailer axles, this indicator is at least 14.5 mm, 15% higher than the generally accepted standards. This solution increases the mileage, reduces the risk of tire damage.

For short and medium-distance transportation, the manufacturer offers a large number of models. Some of them, for example, with the index 300, have a size range with a minimum mounting diameter of 16 inches. The "regional" line uses a large number of tread patterns, which allows you to choose a variant with maximum efficiency. The above-mentioned 300th model has a tread with Z-shaped ribs and protrusions on the edges, which makes it possible to use it not only on asphalt but also on dirt and snow-covered surfaces. This is facilitated by the increased depth of the tread. In most models, this indicator is 16-17.5 mm. Additionally, reinforced carcasses and special compounds are used, which are more resistant to aggressive mechanical stress.

Hilo tires for mixed operating conditions are designed for use primarily on construction and industrial sites, where dirt roads prevail. For such conditions, the brand offers special tires. They are distinguished by tread patterns with an open design, composed of blocks with wide grooves between them. The depth of their cutting is significantly increased, often this indicator exceeds 20 mm. At the same time, special compounds are used, which are extremely resistant to abrasive wear, cracking, cuts, and chips. The carcasses are correspondingly strengthened, both in terms of the number of layers in the cord and the cross-section of the steel wire. All these measures allow Hilo tires to demonstrate excellent durability in the most difficult operating conditions.
