Description Headway HD696
The cargo tire Headway HD696 was specially designed for medium-tonnage trucks that operate mainly on roads with a solid surface. One of the key features of this model is a very long service life at a low cost. In addition, it is impossible not to note the excellent versatility of this tire, which is perfectly suitable for installation on both steering and driving axles of trucks of various brands, using wheels with a landing diameter from 16 to 20 inches.
Tread pattern
To a large extent, the versatility of this tire is ensured by the tread pattern, the design of which makes it possible to operate effectively on summer types of coverage. It is built according to the classical scheme for cargo models, which is represented by 4 longitudinal ribs of approximately equal size. However, their design has significant differences.
Two tread ribs located in the shoulder areas of the tread are distinguished by the complete absence of any breaks throughout their length. Thanks to this solution, it was possible to make this part of the tread very rigid. Due to this, the distribution of external pressure on the contact patch has improved, which, in turn, has led to an increase in resistance to uneven wear, which significantly reduces the life of the tire.
As for the central part of the Headway HD696, the tread ribs located here, on the contrary, have a separate design, consisting of many individual blocks. These tread elements form a huge number of gripping edges, providing high efficiency of acceleration and braking, especially on a wet surface.
Main features of the Headway HD696 tire
- original tread pattern, ensuring the possibility of effective operation in the summer;
- increased carrying capacity due to the optimal distribution of external pressure on the contact patch;
- excellent directional stability due to the four longitudinal ribs;
- massive sizes of tread ribs provide reliable grip with dry pavement;
- a large number of tread blocks in the central part of the tread allow confident acceleration and deceleration on slippery roads;
- increased resistance to aquaplaning is provided by a highly efficient drainage system;
- the possibility of installing on both steering and driving axles of trucks ensures the tire's versatility.
