Hankook W419D i Pike RS

The winter tire Hankook W419D is a modified version of the iPike RS model. The key difference is the increased number of studs from 130 to 170, which has significantly improved the efficiency of the tread on icy surfaces. In all other driving qualities, both models are identical.

Optimized rubber compound

The latest rubber compound is used in the manufacture of the tread. It is characterized by a high content of silicon oxides in the form of fine particles. This gives the tire elasticity at low temperatures, and on wet and icy surfaces - grip. At high speeds, the integrity of the tread is ensured by special polymers and carbon particles that increase the strength of the compound to tearing and stretching.

Reinforced breaker

The breaker located directly under the tread is significantly strengthened. In addition to steel, it includes a nylon cord, the fibers of which are arranged longitudinally. This design, without increasing weight, has much greater stiffness and resistance to deformation. As a result, at high speeds, the directional stability is improved, and when maneuvering - the speed and accuracy of responses to steering. In addition, the "hybrid" breaker reduces tread wear.

Sporty handling

In addition to the reinforced breaker, the tire design includes several elements that give the handling a sporty sharpness. First of all, a special filler in the sidewalls, which gives them additional stiffness. The rim ring has a cavity with a ball filler. This ensures a more snug fit of the tire to the wheel disk, which increases the accuracy and speed of reactions to the driver's actions.
