The Hankook Ventus K102 summer tire, a product of the South Korean tire giant, is designed for passenger cars of various classes.
The design of the tread pattern, structurally reminiscent of the Latin letter "V", has pronounced aggressive features. The appearance suggests that this tire will demonstrate all its advantages when driving on a water-filled highway. To improve the efficiency of fighting aquaplaning, a wide longitudinal drainage groove is located in the center of the pattern, supplemented by two narrower longitudinal grooves located on the sides of the tread pattern.
Additionally, diagonal curved water drainage channels originate from the center of the tread pattern, which expel water through the shoulder areas of the tread. Moreover, these channels divide the tread into separate trapezoidal blocks, the sharp edges of which improve the traction and adhesion characteristics of the tire on any surface.
Another characteristic feature of this tire with a V-shaped tread pattern design is the large contact area of the tire, which, in combination with the highly efficient water drainage from the contact patch, has endowed the tire with excellent traction and braking characteristics on very wet surfaces. Furthermore, the Hankook K102 Ventus tire is distinguished by its low rolling resistance, which has a direct impact on reducing fuel consumption.
The composition of the rubber mixture of this tire is characterized by a high content of silicon-containing components, which significantly improve the traction coefficients on very wet surfaces. Additionally, the inclusion of silica in the rubber mixture has given the tire resistance to wear, leading to an increase in service life.
Main features of Hankook K102 Ventus
- Excellent traction and braking characteristics on very wet surfaces, thanks to the unique V-shaped tread pattern design;
- Great resistance to aquaplaning, provided by three drainage grooves and a system of diagonally arranged curved channels;
- High silica content in the rubber mixture improves traction even on very wet surfaces and makes the tire resistant to wear;
- Excellent fuel economy, thanks to low rolling resistance.
