Description Hankook DM04
The key feature of the Hankook DM04 truck tire, which distinguishes it from other similar products released by the South Korean manufacturer, is its excellent adaptability to operation on poor roads. This is due to the scope of application of the trucks for which it is intended. First and foremost, these are construction dump trucks, which often move on sandy and earthy soils. Its design is ideally suited for movement on them, under very high loads. In such unfavorable conditions for any automotive tire, it demonstrates excellent reliability and a long service life.
Reinforced construction
A significant part of the reliability demonstrated by this tire is ensured by the reinforced construction of the carcass. It is made entirely of steel cord, which gives it significant carrying capacity. On top of the carcass is a four-layer breaker. In addition to the fact that it occupies all the space under the tread, it is also distinguished by excellent strength. It is provided by the use of steel cord, from which all four layers are made. As a result, the tire is given not only good carrying capacity but also exceptional resistance to mechanical damage.
Wide blocks in the center
The tread pattern of this tire contains three ribs, composed of blocks. Each of these groups of tread elements is a separate functional zone, performing a strictly defined range of tasks, which is why there are significant differences in their design. In particular, the central blocks are arranged perpendicularly, which, given their massive size, significantly optimizes the distribution of external load, making it as uniform as possible. On the one hand, this improves the passability on soil surfaces with reduced carrying capacity, and on the other hand, it increases the wear resistance and carrying capacity. At the same time, the numerous multidirectional faces of the blocks provide more reliable grip.
Small blocks in the shoulder areas
In contrast to the center of the tread, the blocks located in its shoulder areas have significantly smaller sizes, which is also due to the nature of the tasks they perform. They are designed to improve traction properties on sandy and earthy soils. During movement, the blocks, due to their polygonal shape, form numerous multidirectional edges of grip. At the same time, the large distance between them allows the tread to quickly release the soil particles that are stuck in it, which significantly improves the passability.
Main features of the Hankook DM04 tire
- exceptional reliability and service life even in the most unfavorable road conditions, thanks to a very durable multilayered construction of the carcass and breaker made of steel cord;
- wide blocks of the central part of the tread increase the contact patch, optimizing the distribution of external pressure on it, thereby improving traction, increasing resistance to uneven wear, as well as carrying capacity;
- a large number of small blocks in the shoulder areas allow confident movement on sandy and earthy soils;
- excellent self-cleaning properties of the tread due to the large distance between the tread blocks.
