All-season passenger tire Goodyear Wrangler AT/R has been on sale for many years, thanks to its excellent operational characteristics. To a large extent, this is due to the manufacturer, who prefers to make minor changes to the design every year, thereby maintaining the competitiveness of the tire at a high level. This model is no exception, which has long been the ideal option for an SUV that is used on asphalt for five working days and off-road every weekend.
Particular attention was paid to the universality of application when developing this model, which is reflected in its name, where the abbreviation A/T means "all terrain". The tire owes its excellent behavior both on asphalt and off-road to the symmetrical non-directional tread pattern, which features a large number of blocks. At the same time, the shape, size, and arrangement of the blocks were perfectly matched thanks to the active use of computer modeling methods, which replaced millions of kilometers of real tests.
The tread pattern, if we count the shoulder zones, consists of six longitudinal ribs divided into separate blocks of complex configuration, complete with sharp edges and angles. Excellent efficiency in various conditions was achieved through a combination of massive blocks and a robust carcass, the rigid design of which resists deformation. In addition, the tread of this tire consists of two layers, each of which is made of a rubber mixture with a different degree of elasticity. This technical solution provides a soft ride both on the highway and off-road.
Another feature of the Goodyear Wrangler AT/R tire is a very rigid sidewall, which allows you to reduce the pressure inside the tire without compromising it. This possibility significantly increases the tire's capabilities off paved roads.
