The all-season tire Goodyear Vector 4 Seasons Cargo is designed for light trucks and buses. It is favorably distinguished by its stability, both on dry and slippery road surfaces. It reduces operating costs due to increased mileage, reduced rolling resistance.
The tread pattern is made in a symmetrical non-directional design with a large number of blocks. In the central part, they have a trapezoidal shape and are distributed over two very wide ribs. This solution made it possible to increase the directional stability at high speeds, reduce rolling resistance and noise level. At the same time, the significant length and multitude of transverse edges provide the tire with excellent traction on snow.
On icy surfaces, the effectiveness of the tread is achieved by several design features. First of all, these are sinusoidal lamellas that form numerous transverse edges in the area constantly in contact with the road surface. They provide high acceleration and deceleration intensity with a low risk of longitudinal skidding of the tire. Another factor ensuring reliable grip on winter surfaces is the physico-chemical properties of the rubber compound. It retains elasticity even at extremely low temperatures. This ability is provided by the increased content of silicon dioxide. The use of this component in the form of the finest dispersion and the use of special polymers made it possible to increase not only elasticity but also the strength of the compound for rupture tension. This reduces the risk of mechanical damage to the tread, increases its resistance to abrasive and uneven wear.
The tread has an optimized profile. The curvature, selected using computer modeling tools, under the load of the vehicle's weight, increases the area of the zone constantly in contact with the road surface, giving it a practically rectangular shape. Such a contact patch not only improves the grip properties but also reduces the level of abrasive impact on the tread due to a more even distribution of pressure on the surface.
