The Goodyear Ultragrip 9 winter tire is one of the latest innovations from the renowned North American manufacturer. Like its predecessor, model number "8", it is designed for the widest range of modern passenger cars. And, of course, all the latest technological developments from Goodyear, considered one of the leaders in the global tire industry, have been applied here.
As for marketing, the Ultragrip 9 is planned to be promoted in various countries in exactly the same way as the previous model. Potential buyers will be attracted by improved traction on winter roads, short braking distance, and excellent handling.
New version of 3D-BIS technology
For many years, Goodyear has been tirelessly improving the 3D-BIS three-dimensional lamella technology. As before, the North American tire manufacturers have done a huge amount of work, once again increasing the number of gripping edges due to the increased density of the lamellas. In practice, this means improved traction on ice, which allows you to completely neutralize the lack of spikes, and with it, noise.
Updated rubber compound
One of the innovations of the new UltraGrip 9 is the rubber compound, or rather its composition, which includes the latest materials, in particular functional polymers. With their help, more robust molecular bonds between all components of the rubber compound are ensured. The practical result of these devices is a reduction in rolling resistance, increased durability, and improved traction properties, primarily on slippery roads.
Stable handling in any weather and road conditions
As is proper for a novelty, the Goodyear Ultragrip 9 has a new tread pattern, which, like many of its predecessors, features an aggressive V-shaped design. The main innovation is the increased length of the transverse gripping edges of a peculiar curved shape. Each of them is formed by a multitude of massive blocks located at a significant distance from each other. This feature allows the tread to capture significant amounts of snow, thereby providing more reliable traction on snowy roads. Also, it is impossible not to note the location of these block groups at a fairly slight angle to the direction of movement. Thanks to this, the tire demonstrates excellent stability when cornering.
