Despite being on the market for quite a long time, the Goodyear Hydragrip summer tire can still be considered the standard for a rain tire. It was the first tire to feature the innovative DynamicDrain TRED technology, which combines several complex technical solutions - cascade lamellas, 3D-BIS technology, and the V-TRED tread pattern.

The 3D-BIS technology was borrowed from the company's winter tires, where it has proven itself perfectly. This technology is based on the use of a large number of lamellas, compared to summer tires, located on the tread protrusions. The so-called "cascade" lamellas significantly improve the braking efficiency due to the pressing effect, which is provided by the progressive increase in tread stiffness in the longitudinal direction. At the same time, the lamellas located longitudinally improve lateral stability and traction on a slippery surface due to the increased lateral stiffness of the tire. Thanks to the special way of cutting the lamellas, their length increases as they wear out, which ensures the preservation of all the main characteristics of the tire throughout its entire service life.

The use of V-TRED technology in the V-shaped symmetrical directional tread pattern is designed to provide exceptional resistance to aquaplaning throughout the life of the Goodyear Hydragrip tire. This technology is based on the rapid removal of water from the contact patch, directing it into the tread grooves.

The rubber compound of this tire is the result of many years of research. In particular, it includes Poly-FIL - a special combination of high-quality reinforcing fillers and polymers. In addition, the Poly2Sil technology was used in the creation of the rubber compound, which improves the braking efficiency in wet weather due to a chemical reaction.
