The inner tread layer is made of a rubber compound that is not only highly rigid, like most competitors, but also has reduced heat generation. As you know, the tire heats up during movement, which causes the tread to start degrading intensively, which negatively affects the tire's service life. At the same time, all its main characteristics deteriorate significantly.
In addition, the rigid inner layer provides higher resistance to dynamic deformation, as well as promotes more even distribution of external pressure across the contact patch. As a result, the tire has become more reliable and predictable on the road. Also, the likelihood of such a negative phenomenon as uneven wear has decreased.
In turn, the outer layer of the tread is made of a more elastic rubber compound. It is characterized by the presence of a higher content of silicon-containing components, also known as silica, in its composition. The increased elasticity allows the tread to more closely fit even the smallest irregularities on the surface of the road, which ensures excellent traction, especially on wet surfaces. At the same time, due to the silica, the rubber compound has become even more wear-resistant, which has had a positive impact on the tire's service life.
Asymmetric tread pattern
Since the tire is designed for powerful cars, the primary task was to ensure a high level of safety when driving at any speed. To a large extent, this is why an asymmetric directional tread pattern was used for this tire, which has excellent performance regardless of the road surface characteristics.
One of the key features of this tread pattern is the 3D blocks. When braking, these tread elements increase the contact patch area. This solution has made it possible to significantly reduce the braking distance.
In other respects, the asymmetric tread pattern contains time-tested but very effective solutions. Like most competitors, the tread pattern of this tire consists of five functional zones - three longitudinal ribs located in the central part of the tread, and two shoulder zones.
