The Goodyear Cargo UltraGrip winter non-studded tire, as its name suggests, is designed for light commercial vehicles operating in winter conditions. At the same time, this model is distinguished by excellent applicability, since its range includes several dozen of the most common sizes. In addition, this model can be equipped with studs, for which special mounting seats are provided on its tread.
However, even without studs, this tire has excellent performance on any winter surfaces. This is largely due to the famous V-TREAD tread pattern, which to this day remains the hallmark of most winter models from this North American tire giant.
This tire features a V-shaped tread pattern, which, unlike conventional passenger models, consists not of 5, but of 4 longitudinal ribs, each consisting of a series of separate blocks. These tread elements are distinguished by impressive sizes, which allows the tire to more easily withstand external loads. But, despite this, the Goodyear Cargo UltraGrip tire tread contains a sufficient number of blocks, so that the tire's contact patch has a multitude of sharp edges at any given time. Thanks to which, it was possible to ensure excellent traction characteristics on snow.
Another feature of this tire is its excellent resistance to aquaplaning, which is not surprising for any Goodyear model, as well as slushplaning. Due to the block structure, the tread pattern contains a huge number of drainage channels, the impressive size of which allows for easy removal of heavy masses of meltwater from the contact patch.
Also, it's worth noting the tire's carcass, which is distinguished by an amazing combination of strength and elasticity, achieved through the proprietary Unisteel technology. It involves the use of a single-steel carcass.
