The Goodyear Assurance summer tire is designed for passenger vehicles of various classes. The model is characterized by improved traction and adhesion properties on slippery surfaces. In markets with warm climates, it is offered as an all-season tire.
Tread for slippery roads
A distinctive feature of the tire's tread is the increased number of traction edges. And only a third of them are formed by separately standing blocks. The remaining edges appear when numerous lamellas come into contact with the road surface. Additionally, these narrow slits direct water into one of the nearby drainage grooves, further increasing resistance to aquaplaning. The risk of this effect is extremely low, even at high speeds. The tread has an increased depth and contains a large number of water-draining grooves.
Refined handling
The shoulder blocks have several distinctive features. These elements have massive sizes, are arranged transversely, and in a side projection, they are trapezoidal. This design provides them with high resistance to deformation, especially under the influence of lateral acceleration forces. Thanks to the rigidity of the shoulder blocks, they are very accurately and quickly transmitted to the steering wheel, providing handling like a racing tire.
Key features of Goodyear Assurance
- the tread with an increased number of traction edges provides safe movement on slippery roads;
- wide and deep water-draining grooves minimize the risk of aquaplaning;
- rigid shoulder blocks provide stability during maneuvering, responsiveness of control, and shorten the braking distance;
- the offset arrangement of the blocks relative to each other increases acoustic comfort.
